Besides the famous Old Town of Kotor, Perast, and Our Lady of the Rocks, there are also some hidden places in Boka Bay that many visitors don’t expect to see. One of the most interesting places is an old submarine tunnel, built during the time of Yugoslavia, when Boka Bay was an important military naval base.
The tunnel was built inside the mountain to hide submarines and military boats, making them invisible from the open sea. Today, it is no longer used by the military, but visitors can enter the tunnel by boat and experience this unusual place from the inside.
When you enter the tunnel, the temperature drops, the light changes, and everything becomes very quiet. It feels completely different from the sunny towns, islands, and open sea around the bay, and it is always an interesting and unexpected part of the tour.
On our boat tours to the Blue Cave, we also visit this submarine tunnel, giving our guests the chance to see not only the natural beauty of Boka Bay, but also a part of its interesting military history.
If you are visiting Kotor and want to see something different and unusual, visiting the submarine tunnel by boat is an experience you probably would not expect in this part of Montenegro.
