Panoramic View of Mamula Island

Panoramic View of Mamula Island

On the way to the Blue Cave, at the entrance of Boka Bay, there is a small island called Mamula Island. From the boat, you can see the old stone fortress built in the 19th century, when this area was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The island was later used as a prison during World War II, and today it remains one of the most interesting historical locations at the entrance of the bay.

During our Blue Cave boat tour, we pass by Mamula Island and guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the island, the fortress, and the open sea where Boka Bay meets the Adriatic. It is a very different landscape compared to the calm waters near Kotor and Perast, and many visitors are surprised by how the scenery changes at the entrance of the bay.

The view of Mamula Island, together with the cliffs and the open sea, is one of the highlights of the Blue Cave boat tour and a great place for photos before we continue towards the cave.

If you join a Blue Cave boat tour from Kotor, Mamula Island is one of the interesting places you will see along the way.
